MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING
This statement sets out the steps that C. Carnevale Ltd has undertaken to ensure that no slavery or human trafficking is taking place within the business or our supply chain.
C. Carnevale Ltd has a zero tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. It is our commitment to conduct business in an ethical and honest manner and to act professionally, with integrity and transparency, in all business dealings and relationships.
COMPANY STRUCTURE
C. Carnevale Ltd is a family-run business which has been manufacturing mozzarella, ricotta and specialist Italian cheeses, meat products and fresh pasta in the UK since 1966.
We are also leading importers of the complete premium range of chilled, ambient and frozen, predominantly, Italian foods, beverages and provisions which are continually added to by our innovative product development and buying teams.
C. Carnevale Ltd’s current portfolio of products boast over 3,000 lines and thus is able to meet the needs of the restaurant, pizzeria, hotel, delicatessen, food processing and wholesale trade anywhere in the country, offering free delivery and no minimum orders.
OUR POLICIES
C. Carnevale Ltd operates the following policies to prevent slavery and human trafficking in its operations:
• Whistleblowing Policy: The Company has the duty to identify situations, where things go wrong or unknowingly harbour malpractice. Employees are aware that they should report suspected malpractice in relation to any activities within the company, without fear of retaliation.
• Employee code of conduct: The Company’s code explains to employees the actions and behaviours expected from them when representing the organisation. This includes rules such as our anti-bribery commitment, data protection policy, confidentiality policy etc.
• Supplier code of conduct: The Company expects all its suppliers to treat their employees with dignity, fairness and respect. Violations of a supplier’s code of conduct may lead to the termination of the business relationship and reporting to the appropriate authorities.
• Equal opportunity policy: The Company is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversion amongst its workforce. Our aim is that each employee feels respected and not treated unfairly or inhumanely.
DUE DILIGENCE
We expect all our suppliers to have suitable policies and processes in place within their business and their supply chain, to prevent child labour, modern slavery and human trafficking and to provide us with those policies upon request.
EFFECTIVENESS
Following the publication of this statement, we have conducted a review of all key suppliers to identify those operating in countries of higher risk of forced labour. The review identified that the vast majority of C. Carnevale Ltd’s suppliers are located in very low risk areas, with most of those working in sectors that are not considered to be high risk sectors.
Our aim is to use this information to identify and minimise the risk of forced labour and/or slavery in our supply chain. Our focus will be with those suppliers who are identified as higher risk.
TRAINING
All employees are briefed against our policies and procedures upon induction. The employee’s handbook, containing those policies, is available to all staff. Briefings on whistleblowing have been conducted to all employees of the Company.

This statement was produced according to the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It was approved by the Company’s chairman and will be reviewed annually.
